Well it's a really good advertisement for Echo I guess. I feel like the example where they increased the clip size because of the low clip/kill ratio would've been better resolved by just increasing the bullet damage slightly, as just having a bigger clip gives you more wiggle room for having bad aim, so once again I'm not having much confidence in the actual game with the people who "balanced" Brink in charge.

You have no faith in ID tech? riiight, clealy it wasn't just splash damages fault?
I like how the quotes (from random alpha testers no less) say it's basically like Enemy Territory, or that it captures the magic of that and old school FPSes. Why not just play Enemy Territory instead? :v:

If that was the case, then what would the point of making new games be?
$120 for a shirt and art book? yeah no

I'm not sure it represents PC gaming as a whole but this is a perfect picture to show how out of hand the F2P/crowdsourcing gimmick is starting to become.
"Pre-order the game you never played for $320 and get a bunch of merchandise for something no one has even heard of!"

Indeed, what IS the point of this game?

An attempt by a developer to make an enjoyable experience to a consumer who will hopefully spend money on it? That seems to be the prerogative of every game...
Watching that gameplay makes me miss brink.
I really liked brink, it was fluid and fun, and while it was light on content, it was really a joy to play.
I think I'll pick this up at a later date.
Really wish they'd done a proper sequel to Brink after that ending, still think this looks fun though.
