• Political Correctness: Good or Bad?

Hopefully you know what I mean by political correctness. I personally think it's bad. One should have the right to bash someone or some group based on whatever they choose, and should have the right to say whatever they want. I think that, if there is too much political correctness, free speech becomes sort of limited. Of course, it's not just speech. But I don't want to rant, so... What do you think?
bad
there too much political correctness
That should be 'there's'.
That should be 'there's'.
Thx mac
It's good in theory but is goes way too far in real life. I liked it when it wasn't racist to sing "bah bah black sheep".
When you phrase the question using "a lot", almost everyone will say no. There's a level that is necessary, though.
There's no such thing as political correctness, it's a phrase invented by conservatives so they can pretend they're being persecuted by minorities A lot of groups in this country have gone from horribly oppressed to much better-treated in the past 50 years, but there is still a lot of discrimination. Unfortunately people sometimes overreact and make mistakes and sometimes people will get unfairly fingered for something. That's bad. But blaming "political correctness" makes you sound like a Glenn Beckite who's mad because it's not as easy to be a bigot as it used to be
I'm with TH89 on this one.
Nope. Too much and it's just silly.
