MSI's highly reviewed Hawk Talon Attack, or EVGA 460 for $30 cheaper is my current predicament

Decent
Actually I think I'm going to switch the cpu to the core i5 760 so ill have to change the motherboard too... gonna make another build
edit: actually maybe not... what do you guys think?
Replace the motherboard with this:

And the power supply with this.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151096&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&AID=10440897&PID=3067296&SID=
I'm pretty happy with my current Corsair PSU, think I'm gonna stick with them.
I'll consider that motherboard if I decide to get the i5 instead

You don't need that much power, just a waste and mine is cheaper.
And the motherboards are almost exactly the same, yours is just more expensive.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817207007&cm_re=xfx_650w-_-17-207-007-_-Product better PSU, enough connectors for SLi
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125333 cheaper, same card
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131637&cm_re=AM3_SLi-_-13-131-637-_-Product SLi capable mobo
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.412235 955 in a combo that's cheaper than the 955 on it's own
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119215&cm_re=690_ii-_-11-119-215-_-Product better case
for the soundcard, consider your current audio system, if it isn't expensive and high end you'll get little benefit from it

XFX psu? Doesn't sound very reliable, they make graphic cards.

But yours is for Intel, mine is for AMD. Which is why I'd look at yours if I decide to get the Intel.
And really I'm happy to pay $15 extra to get the Corsair.

What the fuck? It's a amd motherboard not a intel motherboard.
leave this section already you uneducated fool
No, there is no point getting a psu like that if it just dies after a few weeks, reliability should always go over performance.
Now stop posting random crap that "looks good".
It's alright for the price imo

Unless you have experienced >=3 dead PSUs from a popular line made by XFX in under a year of usage, your advice shall be taken as a grain of salt

are you seriously doing this
you make consistently bad recommendations and now you're doing this
do you even know what an OEM is? do you know what you're looking for when you choose a PSU?

hahah great find
The original build in the OP is pretty good. I would only consider getting a different motherboard(I would personally go for a motherboard with an 800 series northbridge), case and sound card.
k lol.
great response
now leave this section, you're getting in the way of people who already know their shit
Alright, I found a good combo deal with the i5 (also found a cheaper version of the same video card from EVGA).
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.553745
So I'll need to pick out a different motherboard. Gotta get to sleep now, I'll get back to this tomorrow. Thanks for the help guys

Your ego is so fucking huge you cant see past your own stupidity.
Just admit your wrong, and I wont judge you.
You're calling him stupid due to your own opinionated personality.
I could relate to your comment on how you were skeptical about XFX-brand PSU's, but after someone offered their own opinion on them, you were pretty much saying "no it sucks because I said so."

I never said it sucked, I actually said it was probably good PSU, I was just saying that it looked unreliable, especially from a brand that doesn't even develop power supply's as its main branch.
But hey who would side on a person with the name "poopsicle"?
Poopsicle? Was that the annoying dude with a Firefox icon back in the day? That kid who doesn't know anything about PCs? That Poopsicle?

Yes that is me.
Just report for trolling and move on..
Just report for trolling and move on..
I wasn't trolling, I was just arguing a point and reapaninja decided to tell me I was an idiot.
That's hardly bannable.

You were both flaming and well, maybe you weren't trolling, but then you're just an uneducated fool, like Reapaninja said you were in his first comment. He never told you were an idiot.

He provoked me at every turn, I was just stating what I thought was true. Wasn't flaming or trolling.
[editline]11th December 2010[/editline]
And how is saying "k lol" flaming or trolling? I just decided too leave it at that, but of course he replied with his smart ass response tempting me to reply. And I'm the one who is flaming? OH PLEASE, your just siding with him because he is far more influenced than me. Your blinded by that fact.

But anyway, I'm out, this thread has been completely derailed and I've already answered the OP's question to the best of my ability.
ditch the sound card, creative's Vista and 7 software has been complete shit for a long time, and regardless it's not really necessary as the motherboard will do it fine, not to mention the 460 does too when connected to a TV or AV receiver via HDMI
