• $750 Build for a Friend

A friend is trying to get my opinon of a new build he wants to try but it's a bit over his budget of $750. Could I get some opinions on his existing build, and/or a new build that would fit his budget? He mainly wants this for gaming, and to last as long as possible. Extra info: He already has a monitor, keyboard and mouse. Lives in America.
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2OGK5 This will do him a fair amount better. You were paying a HUGE premium for the 7950 thanks to mining. I just went with the parts you had. Did he not need an OS or hard drive?
I think he'll reuse the hard drive he has, but he might need an os. [editline]7th February 2014[/editline] And thanks for the help so far. I want to help him out as much as I can, and give him a variety of options. I appreciate the time everyone takes on this forum to help strangers like me build better computers.

Did he not need an OS or hard drive?
There's 1600MHz RAM with the same latency for 5$ less Why would you get a 212 EVO for a non-overclockable build? What's the difference between the H87-G43 and the B85-G41(it should be worth the 20 extra) I'm not saying you're wrong about the last two, i'm genuinely curious
I didn't realize that had a heatsink. Go with that. And I usually just recommend an Evo even for non OC builds. It's $30 for a longer life for your processor and for a gaming rig you're often running high loads for long periods. Just a preference I guess. And the 87 has some Nicer features if you can fit it in the budget, which he can.
I am said friend. I actually planed to over clock it. so does that mean I need to get a different heatsink? also is 8gigs ram plenty for this build or should I save a little more and go with 12gigs?
Can someone help him out?

You could sacrifice the GTX 770 for a GTX 760 to make it fit better, but I wouldn't recommend it. Should be able to let you have a stable OC to 4.5ish. If you get a half-decent 4670k. [editline]7th February 2014[/editline] And 8 gigs is fine. No real reason to go more for gaming.
