Sony knows how to do their remasters and remakes. The remaster of The Last of Us and Uncharted 1, 2 and 3 were a lot more then just a bit of improved textures and higher anti aliasing, they added much more details to everything.
And now with the upcoming Shadow of the Colossus i am assured that will stay true to its original as well.
Wow, you'd think a game like Crash would have millions of lines of code. What a stupid article, any code monkey could code a game like Crash in UE4

i think you're underestimating what it takes to make a game. just a little bit.
nobody is ever going to make something as impressive and with as much quality as this game just by knowing how to use blueprints in UE4.

Good thing you can use C++, and no I'm not underestimating. Advertising that the game was remade from scratch is shitty, that should be the default. Did they considering recycling PS1 assets?
I don't get your sentiment.
You first trivialize game development, but then turn against them for using an inhouse engine?
The selling point of the game is that is a remake, not specifically that it is 100% new assets, because (the lowest common denominator of) consumers don't care about that

While I admit rewriting the game from scratch was less work than attempting to re-use old code with an old engine (would be incredibly stupid to do this), you're still trivializing game development like crazy while ALSO looking like a total dick.

The challenge is in getting it to behave as similarly as humanly possible to the original, without being able to look at any of the original's code.
You should stop making an ass out of yourself.
I'm questioning why they have to use "Making the game from scratch" as a marketing tactic, Is that not meant to be a given? And I don't see how I'm being a total dick

Do you understand the difference between answering questions asked by the press and creating advertising media?

maybe it should be the norm, but right now it's common and even understandable for remakes/remasters to recycle code. i'm want to say it's even surprising that this remaster claims to not share a _single_ line of code with the original.
Did they considering recycling PS1 assets?
i would be surprised if they didn't, because i think toggling between original PS1 graphics and modern graphics is a feature.

Well, it wouldn't surprise me if he didn't. He pretty clearly doesn't understand the difference between reading the title and reading the article.
