Well of course, we can't run Crysis using the Iphone alone, but this is very impressive.
To put it simply they ran Cryis on a server and streamed it to the Iphone, end result: you can play Crysis on your Iphone.

Why would you want to?

Why wouldn't you? If you can stream high-quality games in a affordable time to small handheld machines, who needs a 1000 dollar rig? Bit hard to drag the latter one along in the train.
Very clever idea, i want a video though :P.
Kind of like Onlive but for an undersized screen with no proper controls.

You still need that 1000$ rig to actually render and "play" the game, they merely stream the screen output and sound to the Iphone, and stream control input from the Iphone back to the rig.
Nice, very clever.
The controls will be beyond gay.

a computer the same price as an iphone can max crysis easy
its not made exclusively for the iPhone. it was just a demonstration.
a computer the same price as an iphone can max crysis easy
Touché.
We won't be getting Crysis on the Iphone, they just show the technology's there.

You find me a $100 computer that can play Crysis.
Oh that's right, you can't.

That's a Iphone bound to a contract from a phone service provider.
In the end, that's a even more expensive Iphone.
They made a assassins creed app ( Pretty cool IMO) I don't see why there couldn't be a crysis app
Reminds me of OnLive.
It's kinda like streammygame, except it supports Iphones.
What AMD Engineers have done this year:
1. make the pwoer toy run on a shitlaod of processors
2. put crysis on iphone
I did this with GTA4 on my PSP.
It was good.
And the control's were good to

Well, I just bought an Iphone, and it was $99 for the phone itself, $100 for the initial fee, and $60 for the plan.
I don't think even a $260-300 dollar computer could easily run crysis on max.
If AMD enables their mainstream hardware to be able to stream games from any average computer to a local iPhone over wireless, this can be interesting

I think he meant unlocked iphones which cost up to 800$
It was more of a goal. I mean to get CRYSIS playable on a phone at least is amazing. It may not play well but hey you were able to do what people thought wasn't doable.
it's not playable on a phone
[editline]05:47PM[/editline]
streamed it to the Iphone
.
The Iphone also streamed the input/output back, so it was playable, try reading the article before posting.

Over the 2-year plan, the iPhone is about 700$.
You still need an iphone and a pc to stream from. I don't really see any useful thing to this.
