So my old roommate sold me his unused and essentially like new 250gb PS3 slim for $100 w/ a controller. I don't have the immediate cash for a next-gen console, so I jumped at the opportunity to play some GTAV and some PS3 exclusives. After seeing the NVIDIA buy a new graphics card get Black Flag, SC:Blacklist, Arkham Origins deal I've been second guessing myself. I'm having a lot of fun with GTA and the PS3 in general, but I could use a new graphics card, though I don't need one. I ended up spending $180 total between the PS3, GTA, Uncharted 3, and a chargecord, and I'm thinking I could get that much and likely more by putting it on Craigslist if I wanted to. Would it be worth keeping the PS3 with everyone flocking to the new consoles in two weeks? Input appreciated.
The PS3 is pretty much done now. As far as I can tell, beyond two souls was the last big release for the console.
I'd say keep it... With no backwards compatibility to the PS3 games, it's worth keeping it. You can still get fuck ton of great exclusives for PS3, such as Metal Gear Solid series, or games like The Last Of Us. And I'd also say that if you're enjoying the system so far, then don't get rid of it.
You can't go wrong when you keep it. There are still some games that hold up today, especially the LBP series.
Keep it
Yeah, keep it. PS4 has no backwards compatibility for PS3 games. 'cause the PS Triple have the best games
