Alright, so a couple of days ago, my Mic decided to quit.
It did not snap off, and no, I don't have the mute button on. (And yes, I double checked the mute button...)
The microphone is part of a Headset (More specifically The Roccat Kave, http://www.roccat.org/Products/Gaming-Sound/ROCCAT-Kave/).
As seen on the website, it's a 5.1 SS Headset, with a detachable microphone.
Now, the problem is the microphone- as I mentioned before, but the weird bit is, that people are still able to hear me in Ventrilo/Teamspeak or any other VoIP Program. I'd have to whistle pretty loud, but it works, they can hear it. However, if I start to speak, or even yell, it doesn't work.
I'm guessing it's the cable, but I can't get to it (It's wrapped with the other Audio cables in one cable) - but that still doesn't explain the whistling.
I've tried contacting Roccat about it, as I still have the 2 Year warranty on it, but so far I haven't gotten a mail back.
Does anyone got experience with this problem, and/or a possible solution? I'm feeling like a real mute without my precious microphone. I'd go out and buy one but I got this (expensive?) headset just a while ago and I don't feel like 'throwing it away'.
Either way, if you do think I'm royally screwed, you're always free to suggest a decent and affordable Microphone or Wireless headset.
Oh, I'm on Windows 7 Ultimate, 64Bit edition, if anyone cares to know. Soundcard is integrated in my Asus P6T Mobo.
Thanks in advance!
Can you try it on any other device with a mic input?
You have warranty so they have to fix it.
Calling them probably works better.
