Idk why there is such a backlash. Yeah, they could have been waiting before announcing it so early. But even developers like CDProjekt announced a season pass before releasing the actual game and I didn't see that much of a backlash for it. If it's of any kind of quality like MK8 and Hyrule Warriors DLC, I'm all in. So far we just have a list with not so much information on the content, just vague stuff.

But even developers like CDProjekt announced a season pass before releasing the actual game and I didn't see that much of a backlash for it. If it's of any kind of quality like MK8 and Hyrule Warriors DLC, I'm all in. Blood and Wine comes with a whole new area for you to explore once you reach level 30. But if you're impatient to see what these DLCs have to offer, we'll give you a premade character of appropriate level and gear so you can get right into the action". It sounds like a pretty damn good deal, and CDprojekt Red isn't known to disappoint. Comparing Witcher 3 Season Pass to almost any other company's approach is honestly bad. CDProjekt Red's DLC was ambitious and they were very transparent about what the DLC actually provided long before it was ever available for playing. Not much is known about BotW DLC besides that disappointing image.
