Notice: Worms™ Armageddon is available for a limited time with the pre-purchase of Worms™ Revolution.
Oh fuck you.
FUCK. YOU.
This is just going to suck as bad as Worms Reloaded, I know it.
Sure, it'll look pretty and have neat features but for some reason Team 17 is having a seriously hard time replicating the things that made Armageddon so amazing.
Also, making us pay for the level editor?
Eat a crusty dick, Team 17.
I'm not even going near it after the catastrophe's of Worms Reloaded and Worms Ultimate Mayhem. Worms Ultimate Mayhem was unplayable from release (30th September 2011) until the first and only patch in April 2012. Absolutely ridiculous. Worms Reloaded suffered a similar fate to a lesser extent.
I highly doubt they have learned from their mistakes, they appear to be focusing more on grabbing as much money as possible out of people with the DLC season pack and the exclusive release of Armageddon, rather than focusing on making their actual games playable/decent.
I'm trying to buy it, but steam is saying I already own it.
What.
[editline]13th September 2012[/editline]
Removing the season pass from the cart fixed that.
[editline]13th September 2012[/editline]
The season pass is bugged, its telling me I already own it.

I've been in the beta and as much as I hate Team17's last releases, I gotta say this one is completely different. They've actually put effort into it. They've remodelled every weapon from scratch with a design that looks a bit more similar to the very first Worms games. The dynamic water is pretty well done too, it's not perfect obviously but when you know how hard it is to simulate fluids on dynamic terrain, it's quite impressive.
I'd say it's worth a try. It really has nothing to do with Reloaded and Ultimate Mayhem, which were pretty much shitty re-releases.
Not too fond of the fact that the DLC costs as much as the game itself, but when you consider that Worms Reloaded was like 25€ on release, maybe it's not that bad. Someone pointed out that you can consider the game without DLC as a "lite" version of the game for casuals. If you want to get the full game, you get the full DLC. The closed beta only contains a little bit of the game, but from what I've played, it's really polished and definitely worth the 30 bucks.
I went and bought the game for myself and Apoc Hedgie, as I feel like supporting the series that I've been with since the very beginning (Worms on the Sega Saturn). Worms Armageddon is a nice bonus since I lost my original disc for that long ago.
A fucking dlc pass for a worms game are you serious.
Wow you have to pay extra for the level editor go fuck yourself team 17
The fact that you have to PAY for a level editor is fucking ridiculous.
That is a cunt move; not just a dick move, but a CUNT move. What possible reasons could even ATTEMPT to excuse making Armageddon unpurchaseable save for buying the latest version; it's like if the only way to buy Diablo 2 again would be to buy Diablo 3, YOU JUST DON'T DO THAT.
By the way, is Worms Armageddon on GOG?
The fact that you have to PAY for a level editor is fucking ridiculous.
Yeah, I agree. That's not very nice of Team17 for selling that separately.
Nah, Worms 2 is though. And that game is also fucking golden.
Also, didn't Mafia 2 pull the same gig with getting Mafia when you pre-purchased? That got buyable after a while too so don't despair just yet!

And yeah, Worms 2 is a great step up from the first game. Worms World Party felt more like a "mission pack" than a separate game.
I got conned into buying Reloaded and it was such a waste. I'd love to buy Armageddon, but they made it un-purchasable. What a load of bullshit.
[editline]13th September 2012[/editline]
Wait, they got Matt Berry to do a voiceover for the trailer? Wow.
Read the fifth post in this thread, its not a bad game, nothing like reloaded

I love the Worms 2 weapon editor. You could make weapons so OP that in one turn and everything is dead.
Did Worms Armageddon always support 1920x1080? The steam version does.
[editline]13th September 2012[/editline]
Is anyone else unable to Purchase the season pass? It keeps telling me I already own it, when I don't.
[editline]13th September 2012[/editline]
This probably isn't a positive, but the Map Editor is PC only.
Just asked them about the level editor being DLC-only. This is their reply.
We try and make the price as close as it can be for the base game across all platforms (Xbox 360, PS3 and PC). The Level Editor is exclusive PC only content. What you'll find is that the game costs $14.99/1200 Microsoft Points which is as close as we can get it so that everyone is paying more or less the same. If we'd have included it in the overall main package then the price would have been higher to incorporate it.
As such we're classing the Level Editor as additional content, in fact we've still got a team working on it and the DLC very hard now.
The Season Pass is currently -10% off on Steam if you pre-purchase now so you can get the entire content for roughly £22.46/$28.49/€26.59
We think the value on this is fair. I know there's the GOTY pack now for Worms Reloaded but before that the main game and all DLC would have cost £29.95 (£17.99 + 4 x £2.99)
If it's just the Level Editor (or any of the other singular DLC packs) you're after, then they can all be purchased individually when the time comes for $4.99.
I hope this answers your question
Kind of a bunch of bullshit if you ask me. Gran PC knows one of their devs too, apparently the developers have no control over that, it's just the fact that their marketing team sucks major balls.
Although I still think the game alone is easily worth the 30 bucks so it's not that bad.
Season Pass pre-orders are working now.
Although UbiSoft hasn't made Rayman 2 able to be purchased separately yet, and that was the preorder bonus for Rayman Origins...
Um, pretty sure Rayman 2 is on GOG, I bought it when it was on sale last year...
[editline]14th September 2012[/editline]
Yeah it's here and only $5.99.

On steam!
If you get a four pack for Worms: Revolution will you get the 4 Worms:Armageddon too?
Good to know I'm not the only one who didn't like Worms: Reloaded. I got it as a gift though and it was the GotY version so I can't complain.
If you get a four pack for Worms: Revolution will you get the 4 Worms:Armageddon too?
Figures they would add the ability to buy a 4-Pack AFTER I had bought the three copies earlier. :suicide:
could people explain why they disliked reloaded? I thought it was a good blast, 4 player on the same PC is always a laugh
The menu was incredibly confusing to navigate with misleading options and other options that you wanted hidden inside of another screen that was also in another screen. The campaign wasn't that great, the level editor felt very limited, the AI had two difficulties pretty much (retarded and professional aimbots). The controls lacked enough customization and I had to settle with an uncomfortable setup, the dumb unlockables and the DLC that flashed in your face on the menu screen.
Mainly the menu, though, it was such a hassle to figure out how to do things that were very simple in other worms games, and some things were just apparently nonexistent or I didn't look hard enough- either way I got tired of trying to figure out how to do what I wanted to do and uninstalled it.
Now you get the level editor for free with the game.
The season pass also promises a fourth mystery dlc in its place.
Can someone explain why Reloaded was so bad? I loved it.
could people explain why they disliked reloaded? I thought it was a good blast, 4 player on the same PC is always a laugh
It has less content than previous worms games, it's multiplayer was unplayable until very recently and even now they actually broke multiplayer again (you can't play custom maps any more since it only half loads the map)
To put it simply, I wouldn't trust Team 17 with a goldfish, never mind another worms game.
The same reason no one likes any of t17's Worms games: They're not a 100% 1:1 clone of Armageddon.
Apart from the stupid move with the level editor, this actually looks quite fun, as do a lot of the previous Worms games. Does anyone give a shit? Nope. Why? Because they're not Armageddon.
As I said in a previous thread:
I can't stand those kind of people. They're the same reason CoD is so bad, because all they want is the exact same game each year.
It's more you wish that game you loved intensely lasted longer and want a sequel to basically just extend the gameplay further with new content while retaining the feel you loved.
$15 for a new Worms game plus Armageddon? I'm in. Not so sure about the DLC pack now, they've lost the ability to say that the $13 you pay goes towards 4 DLC packs since the level editor's included now, so I might wait for a drop in the price of that before I buy it. Definitely getting this, though.
Seems like they are still milking the Worms franchise dry to the bone
