• Network issue giving me a headache

Okay. I know at thing or two about networks but this is pissing me off. I wanted to try using both my wireless card and a Ethernet cable to connect to the same router. I can connect wirelessly with internet access and through the cable but that doesn't receive internet. I tired disabling the wireless card to verify and I can connect through the cable but again no internet. Windows Diagnose can't fix the problem; claims it is by resetting default gateway. After that the two connections "merge" in Windows Network Center and claims I am getting internet but it will only be through the wireless connection. The whole purpose for all this trouble is to game through LAN and surf the web through the wireless. I am now thinking of just trying to use the guest access on my router for the web connection and then connect to the main network over LAN. I can upload screenshots later if that will help.
1) Does the lights on your Ethernet connection blink? 2) (Windows 7) Go in to Network and Sharing center and enter "Change adapter settings". What status does Local Area Connection have there? 3) Have you tried any other port on the router?

I have gotten to the point of reinstalling drivers but I can't get the updated driver to actually install. There also seems to be some teaming software that allows me to use two connections to one network; I'll try that once I get these drivers to install.

Tried any other network cable?
