Have you tried a regular computer monitor?
Make sure that the graphics card is attached properly to the motherboard and has everything including those 6-pin connectors (if necessary) plugged in. Things like that might occur sometimes.
I have my Pc hooked up via HDMI to my TV and it works fine. open up your case, remove your graphics card, then push it back in so you know it's in. Make sure any connectors that it requires is plugged in properly. Then try to hook a regular monitor up to it. If it works, hook up your HDMI cord and viola! should work.
Don't worry guys I sorted it now, the company that sold me the PC had failed to tell me about this extra port that was barely visible that allows me to use it, thanks for your help though, guys.
