Just remember EA recently acquired Respawn so don't get your hopes up
Probably being forced to use that schlock of a frostbite engine
I imagine they'll release some great promo pics right before EA kills them because the Star Wars battle royale game they're forcing them to do is no longer the fad and the shareholders decide that they're of no use.
I'm being obviously overly cynical but boy am I bitter about Visceral specifically, and, though less relevant, Black Box, Maxis, Pandemic, and probably Criterion soon.
I won't buy another Star Wars game from EA's partnership with Disney.
I probably would have purchased Visceral's, since it was a single-player (no microtransactions), but since they buried them...

I agree with this sentiment, but it's going to make me feel really bad about it once it comes out, fails to live up to EA's expectations and results in Respawn getting canned.

It's really weird - I always wondered why a crew founded on running the fuck away from the publisher shenanigans of Activision and, being a relatively small industry to have a lot of overlap for talent working at other publishers, they decided to get into bed with EA. Makes me wonder what kind of sorcery they have up their sleeves that the rest of us aren't privy too, because from the outside looking in, it looks like lunacy. :v:

Don't sign a deal with the devil.

I might just to keep Respawn alive. They don't deserve to suffer the same fate.

Someone at Respawn looked at EA's serial murder record an went "yep, this is fine." It's not like they wouldn't have had a warning or 6
Makes me wonder if they are going to use Source engine again, imagine Star Wars Game on Source Engine that isnt recreated in Garrys Mod. :v:
Considering Source is obsolete, I doubt you'll see much in the way of games using it.

Exactly. The only reason they used Source for Titanfall is because they were a new company, most of them were already familiar with the engine and they could keep a consistent 60fps on both 7th and 8th gen consoles. Now that they're under EA's boot, they'll probably have to use Frostbite or whatever inhouse engines EA has.
I’m really worried for Respawn. I loved playing both Titanfall games and I know EA is gonna spoil whatever they make next by shoving their dirty, anti-consumer practices up its ass. We all know what’s inevitably going to happen to them and I hope they find a way to get as far away from EA as possible before it happens.
But if every other studio under EA has told us anything, they won’t make it.

Only thing you can hope for, is that the competent people will fund a new studio after they've learned from the mistakes of working under a greedy triple A publisher.

maybe they should call that studio respawn
