And even slipping in references in articles that had nothing to do with it, like the Skywind one.
Methinks money changed hands.

money.
Oh I just beat the damn thing. Don't see anything about the crashing on autosave in there.
For anyone wondering how it is, all those 9s and 10s that have been given to this game are not particularly well deserved. It is, beat-by-beat, almost exactly the same as tomb raider 2013. Plot progression is worryingly similar (down to the timing of some "big reveals"), core gameplay has had some new platforming elements that feel tacked on, the new crofting system makes earning new weaponry and upgrades more tedious, and there's a surprisingly large amount of backtracking.
Production values are high, for people who are easily wowed by that kind of thing, stuff like facial animations are very impressive. Graphics are excellent in spite of a few inconsistencies in lighting choices for outdoor environments, and Jonah's in the game.
As for Lara herself, well, some reviewer wrote that Camilla Luddington has the worst fake British accent in the world even though she's British, and I think it's because she's chewing the scenery almost every time she opens her mouth. Her character development still hasn't reached the point where she can be compared to the classic and legend versions of the character, it felt like it slowed down a bit just to give them a reason to make a third game.
Still a good Resident Evil game, but just keep in mind even if you liked 2013 you'll probably find yourself tiring of the experience around 10 hours in. The platforming as far as I'm concerned is still average, why they didn't move it more towards Underworld style smooth 3D platforming I have no idea, this almost Uncharted almost God of War type stuff is too rigid for Tomb Raider. The plot's nothing particularly special, though I must stress that it's paced very similarly to 2013, and is extremely predictable.
Oh and the gunplay is the same, not sure why it's getting such praise from reviewers.
