Hey guys, So my co-worker is looking to build a new pc for gaming for $1000USD. He needs a full HD monitor (22inch or better) and wireless keyboard, mouse, and wireless card. What can you guys come up with?
A full system? CPU: i5 3570k GPU: 7950/670/anything more powerful MB: Z77-D3H (z77 anyway) RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8 GB (or Rip Jaws I guess) PSU: Corsair/Seasonic/XFX 600w + HDD: Seagate Barracuda/Western Digital 1 or 2 TB Case: Your choice, Corsair 200R is pretty good I guess: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811139018&Tpk=corsair%20200r Cooler: COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 EVO (a few more good ones can be listed) OS: Windows 7 64 Bit Home Premium You should check the price on all of those I listed and add them up because you may or may not manage to get a good SSD in there too, with the monitor/keyboard/mouse/wireless card. I may have to change a few things around or downgrade them depending on if those above meet/exceed or stay under the budget.
I'd personally suggest not to bother with wireless mice or keyboards. I've had my fair share of them and they tend to always mess up in some way. Batteries, charging, connecting, and latency are issues I've had with mine.

I thought so Walrus but I was just hoping it would just hit the budget limit or a little bit more. He'd have to go for a few components that are cheaper and less powerful but meet the budget requirement, he will just need to change some things anyway.
Well Newegg pooped out on me in the middle of putting something together so it might be a while until I can help. [editline]6th March 2013[/editline] For some reason the case and monitor were in a different section. $20 off with promo code EMCXTXR39 brings the total to $1027.21 w/ shipping. You also get a $10 gift card for your next order and $55 in rebates so that will offset the initial cost and bring it under budget. Went with a wired keyboard/mouse set because any wireless set under $50 is going to be shit and the budget just wouldn't allow for that much on something that doesn't do anything for performance. He can change out Windows 8 for Windows 7 if he wants, they're the same price and it's his choice, I'd rather not start the hundredth OS debate of the week in here.
For gaming, don't use a wireless keyboard and mouse. Also for a regular PC I always recommend casual 100 base or gigabit LAN instead wireless.

I have a k800 and it runs like any other keyboard.. Logitech Unifying Technology or whatever it is called is really great.
I still say buy the basic computer parts for gaming and just save up more later for the fancy wireless gizmos. I used to use some old HP keyboard and Dell keyboard/mouse some time ago and they worked fine enough for majoriy of games. Just get the computer setup and use any leftover cash for simple keyboards and mice. Than get around to getting a nice wireless keyboard and mouse.
