Well I am having a tough time deciding between these two cards. The 4850 is much cheaper which will allow me to get two of them faster than if I get the 4870. Is the extra $50 or so dollars it would cost me per card to crossfire them worth it? Or should I get the 4850's and overclock them? This is driving me crazy!
By the way I plan on using 2 or 3 monitors at 1600X900 (only one of them while gaming)
4870s aren't THAT much more expensive than a 4850 if I remember correctly.

So in conclusion get the 4870, it's only ~25 bucks more. Although there's this one XFX 4870 that's a little bit more than the cheapest 4870, but it has a double lifetime warranty (meaning if you sell it the next owner has lifetime warranty as well) and it has 1GB VRAM. How well do you think 2 of the cheap 4870 will run crysis?
Pretty damn well.
If you want to Crossfire, get two at the same time.
What proc do you have?

E8400 duo
Two 4870s will do fine but it may or may not bottleneck. Stick with one for now and if you need the extra 4870 buy it then.
also 900 toasts
Why 900 instead of 1000? are you trying to scam me?
'cause 900 has a square root and 1000 does not, instead it has a cube root (and squares are cooler)
