I'm so conflicted about this game. On one hand it's WHFB and that's great, on the other it's a CA game so it'll be broken on launch and out the ass with DLC. But from their carefully crafted PR media it does look good, aesthetically and otherwise, so who knows maybe this will be different.
You basically did the equivalent of spotting the trap and then stepping on it anyway :v: Not that I'm claiming the game will be bad, but after being burned by buying CA games before I will be giving this a miss at least until a sale later down the line.
Atilla, Shogun 2 and Fall of the Samurai released perfectly. Seems like they only drop the ball on the real big projects.

Personally the bullshit about the chaos race being a pre-order exclusively (or well, they'll probably offer it as DLC as well) and the disappointment of Rome II (well, some people liked it, I didn't) kinda puts me off this game. Might pick it up on a sale some time.

It wasn't super messed up like Rome II but it had a ton of issues.
Shogun 2 mainly had AA issues, though it was definitely one of CA's better launches. Every TW game since Rome I has had a lot of issues at launch, whether that's due simply to their failings as developers, publisher pressure, both, or who knows what else is yet to truly be seen. Attila has been one of their best launches, though it suffered, and still does for some, from optimization issues.
Rome Total War - Played through my friends computer, we had fun time remaking Asterix & Obelix with it. Medieval 2 Kingdoms - Bought it because mods, never disappointed to the game, even vanilla game was good. Except the fucking walls. Empire Total War - Brain dead AI and campaign map problems. DLC hell begins. Napoleon Total War - Naturally I skipped this which seems to be huge mistake. (I was in PotC fever so I wanted Empire more) Shogun 2 Total War - Coop campaign issues and random CTD, but with few months wait we try coop it works but we have exhausted ourselves with SP. Rise of the Samurai - Skipped I was not interested of the era, plus DLC hell pushed me even further. Fall of the Samurai - Everything works ok but differences between factions too minor. Rome 2 - Massive disappointment, everything is fucking wrong, glitchy and breaking, I still have not played it 'through', only interest for that game is custom battles now. Attila - Automatic skip. Especially since I felt I was cheated because none of the fixes they made in Attila that would have made Rome 2 maybe even good never came to it. Now they want me to believe them and buy this? Did they up the AI budget with another 10% and give it to another host who speaks that whole budget how roman sandals (or in this case Empire Boots) were the shit back in the day?
