Gauging Interest in a "Post your original Writings Thread"
In the past I tried to write a book. It was supposed to parody self help books and constantly belittle the reader, but I decided not to continue because it just wasn't funny. One of the chapters was literally just the words "Fuck You" except spaced out in order to take up as much space as possible. I still can't get over how dumb that idea was. I would like to write again one day. For now I'll just continue to think about things I'd like to write that aren't cringey and forced.
I have trouble getting my ideas into writing but I try every now and then. Really need to work on it.
I have trouble getting my ideas into writing but I try every now and then. Really need to work on it.
Try and get into the habit of writing. Once it becomes part of your daily or weekly routine, you'll probably end up doing it without thinking about it.
Yeah. Today alone I spent a few hours writing and I'll probably spend a few more before days end. I've been working on short stories recently and I also have a novel I'm working on.
I like to write actual useful Steam reviews, because god knows we need more of those. It's also quite easy, no need for a story or characterization, just some basic structure, some cheap jokes, done. Steam really does love its cheap jokes. I have some quite involved and highly-rated reviews, but they pale in comparison to my magnum opus.
Usually I'm wrong [sp]sorry[/sp]
I wrote about half of a short story a couple of months ago and when i returned to it recently my reaction was pretty much "Holy shit, did i write that much?" It made me want to finish it off.
Some of you may remember that I had my own zombie story that I wrote on http://www.writerscafe.org/, I also posted poems there. I also wrote my own book and published it a few days ago
I practice my writing on my tumblr page, I post my first drafts on there and try to get feedback. I also go on the critique threads on /lit/, one of the more high quality boards on 4chan—but if you go to 4chan for the shitposts they have a lot of that there as well. Other than that I have a novel that I'm working on but I'm putting it off until I think I'm a good enough writer to do it justice. Which probably means around a thousand more short stories for practice. It's hard to find time nowadays though, with college and work.
Gauging Interest in a "Post your original Writings Thread"
I've seen a couple of "Post your own writing" threads come and go over the years, they usually never make it past two pages before they die
Yes, primarily fiction, primarily fantasy.
No, I can't write English good.
I've seen a couple of "Post your own writing" threads come and go over the years, they usually never make it past two pages before they die
Shame, that. On another forum we had an extremely active writing thread and it was wonderful bouncing ideas off one another.
I used to blog, and write personal notes, but nothing in a fictional sense. Sometimes I would write (awful) scripts for mods.
I write a lot, they're mostly shitposts on online forums though.
Shame, that. On another forum we had an extremely active writing thread and it was wonderful bouncing ideas off one another.
You should probably check out /r/writing. From there there's multiple subreddits for writing. Like posting writing and reading writing etc etc
I write quite a lot, whenever I get a story idea in my head I write short little books about it. I've always wanted to be a writer but was afraid that what I write is not as good as I think it could be.
I've written a fair bit in the past, and still am today. Before I started my current fanfic (yeah I'm that kinda trashbag), I frequented Writing Prompts a fair bit, and before that I worked on a science-fantasy novella for NaNoWriMo. Though I only got so far with that one in the space of a month, and barely managed to get it posted before our internet provider decided to stop providing before we switched providers.
I would write, but every time I try, I either A) Get no ideas Or B) Have an idea but don't start writing for some reason I can only really write properly when I focus my full attention to it, sort of a bit like this post I suppose
i really enjoy writting but i always keep it all to myself
I never really got into writing. Usually I'd just end up writing edgy/shitty stories, so I gave up
Procrastination is by far my biggest problem when it comes to writing, or any creative venture I try to take on for that matter. I just need to sit down and do it, and quit wasting my time on other things that simply don't matter. Nobody's fault but mine though.
At the moment I just keep a journal. Used to write short stories when I was in my teens.
I've done some writing, but I've only completed one short story. I also have a few screenplays on the backburner that I work on periodically
i write music and i've written two short plays, both of which were directed at my local college, one of which I directed myself i've had ideas for novels and films, started them all, never finished a single one
Does it count if I constantly delete everything I start writing out of disgust?
I used to write (very) short stories often, but I haven't in well over a year. Just haven't had the time or drive to. I've had an idea or two for something lately but it's little more than a rough outline at this point.
Used to write erotic fanfic of MLP back in 2011-13. Really regret getting into that show.
Mostly plotlines for a comic idea involving a motley band of misfits on a journey to return another to their home dimension. It'd sound really cringey if I tried to explain in detail ("so one of the main heroines is a catgirl and-"), but it'll be really cool, I swear.
