I need a good mouse as well as a pad to go with it. I'm looking for something pretty high end (~$100 for both).
My uses:
-desktop
-graphic design
-light gaming
-multiple buttons is a plus
Steelseries Qck for the pad, couple of different sizes to choose
for the mouse either MX518 if you want a better sensor, or G500 if you'll use the extra features
-snip-
Oi. That said light gaming. Sorry.
I know i'm going to get a lot of dumb ratings but I honestly recommend the razer deathadder
it feels like a normal mouse and isn't heavy or anything, but it's sturdy and effective.
agreed. I've used the deathadder for 2+ years and its just starting to show a little ware. Response is still golden, I still love the shape, and button's 1 and 2 are still perfectly fine. The mousewheel and buttons 4 and 5 are getting a little unresponsive, but not enough to notice a major change. I will order another one on woot or something for 25% off.
I already have a steelseries qck mousepad. Looking for a harder surface though as it's a bit soft (like a metal pad or something).
I'm thinking of either the G500 or the G700. Any reason to pick one over the other? I want fast response and good DPI but I'm just wondering if wired/wireless will make much of a difference in my situation.
Mx518
I have an MX518 with a 11x17 inch XTrac Ripper. Works wonderfully.

Between the G500 and the G700 the G500 is the best for the money because with the G700 your paying almost $40 more for just a couple extra macro buttons that you will ever use and the capability of being wireless
I'm also thinking about getting a new mouse.
Any experiences with the R.A.T. series?
I have a Razer DeathAdder 3500DPI Edition as mouse and a SteelSeries Wrath of the Lich King mousepad.
I love both.
I have a rat5 the only default I dont like about it is the metal frame is short on the butt end of the mouse
So whenever you pull it back the front will lift a bit and it makes the laser go crazy,Like my crosshair in games go sky high ....
Other than that Its a pretty awesome mouse with a lot of Configuration,Tons of buttons,2 scrollwheels
1 deadman aiming button.(Pretty freakin awesome)
Bought a 20 dollar saitek mouse 3000dpi or something, and I use masking tape as my mouse pad :D
Logitech G500 + Razer Sphex
