I feel bad posting about this, since it's a topic that should be easily found using Google, but after rewording my question many times over I keep getting results on how to burn a CD or repair scratched CDs.
I bought a game from a local used-game store, Indigo Prophecy for the Xbox. Upon returning home and putting it in my Xbox the console didn't recognize it, so I flipped the game over and looked and sure enough the disk has burn damage on it. Not a whole lot but it looks like the corner was held over a candle flame. Is there anything I can do to repair this? I've tried dicking around with Windex and Rubbing Alcohol already but to no avail. Can anyone help?
There are nothing you can do about that disk. I'm not sure if Microsoft is still offering the free defective disk replacement service, but you have no choice but to throw that disk away.

I'm not sure that applies in this setting; the disk wasn't defective until the previous owner melted part of it.
Oh I missed the part about bought at a used game store.
You need to return it to the shop as a defective disk, if possible.
