Google Chrome Crashes/Lotsa Game FPS Bugs And Crashes

PC Specs:
MOBO: Biostar A780L3L
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 960T 3.0GHz (unlocked to 6 core)
RAM: Kingston 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1066MHz
HDD: WD 500GB 3.5" SATA 6Gb/s Caviar Blue Hard Drive
GFX: XFX HD 6850 1GB GDDR5
PSU: 700w Arctic Power (Can't remember the exact PSU specifications)
OS: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit
I have had a few problems with my new PC build recently:
Chrome: Google Chrome seems to crash on startup, either displaying a blank error box, 3 "Whoa, google chrome has crashed!" boxes or "Aw Snap!" errors on every page it tries to load. In the Windows event viewer, it seems to reference chrome.dll or ntdll.dll as the faulting module.
Garry's Mod: I can play singleplayer absolutely fine, except some prop spawns can crash the game. My biggest problem is that when I attempt to join any multiplayer server, the game freezes as soon as I spawn, forcing me to end hl2.exe in task manager.
ArmA II: Again, singleplayer, I can play relatively perfectly at around 30fps in the worst situations. Joining a multiplayer server drops my framerate to around 5 fps or lower, sometimes crashing ArmA.
Operation Flashpoint: Red River: The game seems to run fine (except maybe a small stutter every now and then) until after a while, it freezes completely. I then have to close the game in task manager.
Steps I have taken:
Chrome: Deleted my profile and mad a new one, uninstalled chrome and reinstalled completely. (No results.)
General: Have run sfc.exe /VERIFYALL (returned no integrity violations), disabled core unlocking for my processor (no results), did a memory test (works fine), took out each individual RAM stick and tested them individually (no result), reinstalled Windows (no result).
Suspicions:
I suspect that my CPU is not supported by my motherboard, although have not found a way to test this.
Please help, Facepunch. I worked hard to finally get this thing, and it saddens me to see it fail like this.
Most likely not the cause, but it's always good to check that nothing is overheating. If everything's ok there, a good way to test if your cpu is the problem, would be to run a linux live cd and see if you can use applications on there without any problems
I have checked temps and they seem fine (around 30ish degrees always). Where would I obtain a linux live CD and how would I use it exactly?
Also, what do you think of the compatibility thing I suspect?
I think if the cpu wasn't supported by the motherboard it wouldn't work at all. But it could be faulty. If you search ubuntu in google, and goto the download page, you can download an iso which you can burn to a cd. Then you just boot into the cd when your pc is starting up
Will do, thank you. Also, Chrome works now after I went into my BIOS and selected "Load Optimal Defaults". After I did this, I booted Windows and it said it had detected new hardware (my CPU) then it could finally identify my processor. :D I'm pretty sure this fixed Flashpoint and Garry's Mod too. However, ArmA still has terrible FPS in most multiplayer servers (which it shouldn't, I am fairly confident my CPU and Graphics card are badass :P).
Okay, just so nobody else finds this problem unsolvable in future, I will explain how I solved it.
I got a new motherboard.
Always remember to check the specific model of your CPU on your motherboard's compatibility list before buying it. I am just lucky it was only £30 wasted, not a huge amount.
960T is not compatible with a Biostar A780L3L motherboard.
Thanks for reply though djjkxbox360. :)
