Naturally.

Do all you PCGames people head straight to FP to keep an eye on their news node thread?
I'm not sure about the others. I tend to check back through the day to see what people are saying.
We're just the best at error reading.

this is gonna damage your sanity in the long run
Everytime I read about this game I remember that I used to think they would learn with the mistakes they made in DA2. Oh well, another game to piss on BioWare's once good name.

Are you fucking serious right now, they can't even have companions follow you around.

I think they were having major problems with the pathing/speed that you could take on a horse. So instead of fixing they said "Fuck it, let's just make everyone vanish".
Sucks for immersion's sake, I don't really see how that can be such a big problem programming wise. But I'm not a game developer.
It's not going to influence whether or not it'll be a good game for me. Just probably means I will run everywhere in the beginning to make sure I don't miss any party banter which has always been a strong point of Dragon Age.
Having your companions disappear when you mount up is no more immersion breaking to me than summoning a horse out of your butt (which I am guessing is how it'll work).
Not a big deal, really, but a shame solely for missing out on banter.
That is if the characters in Inquisition provide banter worth listening to in the first place, which after 2 I am skeptical of.

And I think that's totally baseless. Realistically I'd say the problem is more a matter of them wanting to avoid two scenarios:
1) Party members slugging behind your horse on foot and either getting left in the dust or kicking into maximum overdrive when you get too far away.
or
2) Buying mounts for all of your party members/not buying mounts for your party members and them inexplicably having mounts anyways.
They went with the lesser of three evils, really.

Isn't that what I said?
I don't know is it? You weren't clear.
And even then, if that was the case, you run into problem 2.

Immersion-Breaking. It would've been nice just to have your fellas strolling around with you. On the other hand I found companions to be quite annoying in Skyrim, so I'm a bit torn in this regard.
I have the feeling Bioware is full of shit when they say companions won't be sold as DLC considering the first two games had DLC companions.
Or they only had the budget and time for the ones they've already announced and don't have the resources to sell more so quickly after release

both dragon age games and all 3 mass effect's had dlc companions, so either they finally got a brain or they're lying.
I'm still confused about the direction the series took after DA:O.

That's what happens when so much people of the Staff Changes.

I don't think they would have the balls to go back on that one. But then, they had the balls to go back on bigger things.

There were no DLC companions in Mass Effect 1.

So Watson all over again.
