I heard of that lcd screen for the ps3 but its to fucking much.
But i have been wondering... Will this http://www.amazon.com/LCD-Screen-playstation/dp/B00005QI2S/ref=sr_1_18?ie=UTF8&qid=1289270559&sr=8-18 work on a ps3?
If wrong section please move
Holy CHRIST that's a lot for a PSOne screen. If you can get the video over to it it will work, but with a resolution of 320x240(IIRC, might be 640x480. Still very low.), good luck seeing anything. And that's a $25 screen nowadays in any store that sells old game stuff.
why would you even consider buying this
the most recent review for this thing is from 2006
If you got one, maybe.. depending on what kind of interfaces it has. If none (or all proprietary), you may have to make your own connector.
if you don't have one of these, find a better way to spend $109. And not on this dated piece of shit screen.
yeah a 19in monitor is like $100
Seriously a dumb idea. Get this http://deals.woot.com/deals/details/1f5d99ae-dafb-4099-8d9b-fb4525c12992/acer-20-widescreen-lcd-monitor-staples#9
They are very easily hacked up for composite input and even RGB input, but the resolution is 640x480.
Why.

I'm pretty sure that's hard to carry around with you.
And this screen is a brilliant screen in that it's small and easy to make a portable out of. The voltage input is perfect for camcorder batteries and the PCB is a good size to stick right on top of the motherboard for portables.

Yes just go with this and get the necessary adapters
Buy a 17 inch Dell from eBay for $80 and use it as second monitor when not playing ps3.
That screen is designed specifically for the PSone (and just the smaller version, not the original PSX). Even if it is possible to hack that thing to work with the PS3, you're better off spending an extra $100 or so on a 1080p LCD with HDMI input.
Yeah, it has a propietary connector. But it does take a standard signal in if you hack it up.
People who are suggesting full size monitors aren't getting the idea of this screen. I'm pretty sure OP is looking for a portable screen.
He said absolutely nothing about portability.

And why does that matter anyways, you still have to bring a giant PS3 with you, and would need a power source.

The screen choice itself would indicate a desire for portability. Why else would he be looking at a 5" screen?
hes a dumby

also as mentioned this is why this screen will not work with a ps3.
sure the port is the right one but everything else is wrong.

those little psone screens were pretty cool, though. i really wanted a psone just so i could have the screen when i was a kid.

you could try that, but i don't think it's in the states
It's insanely easy to hack those screens to accept RGB or Composite. And the GameCube is pretty easy to make a chunky portable out of.
wait you misunderstood.
the PSOne screen uses the native PlayStation Multi-AV port. the GameCube uses Nintendo's own native Multi-AV port. they are not compatible at all.
and it might be hackable, yeah, but you're not going to be able to get it out of the box and working. RGB and composite, great, but that's still too much effort for 640x480i, as the most the PS3 can output to an SD display is, well, SD.
then there's the power port thing that you have to deal with. and then there's finding someway to affix it to the PS3 itself, or construct something to hold it onto. or systematically construct a temporary stand with books or something.
in my opinion it'd just be smarter to get a cheap little 17" monitor, you'd at least get 720p. may not be super portable but it's not like a jury rigged PSOne screen is going to be very portable, either, because there goes the clam-shell portability.
I know you can't get it out of the box and working. That's what I said. The whole gamecube portables statement was in jest.
i know what you said, did you read everything i said? it's not worth it

You're absolutely right. Waste of screen. Better to make an SNES or PS1 portable.
