I just want to know if there is anything I could save on or get something more "budget friendly." I wanted the build to just be $600, but then I realized that I needed a dvd/cd burner and Win7, so that bumped the price up to $722. Also, I realize RAIDMAX HURR, but could I get something better for two gaming cards? Do I need 730 Watts of power?
Make a new thread around christmas or before thanksgiving so you can get some black friday deals. But here are some tips. The case is fine, but it's old. You can get the newer version of that; Antec One You're right, raidmax sucks, don't get it, and you don't need 730w. Might as well get a 3570k since you have a ivy bridge motherboard. You don't have a graphics card.
Thanks for the tips man, didn't know about the Antec One. So how many watts do I need for a build including 2 mid-range to high level graphics cards? Or you think I should just get one? And yeah I don't have a graphics card right now, my current PC is a Sony Vaio laptop, it can barley game at all.
650w would be enough for two of most cards. And get one good one now, and then buy another later.
the only viable reason for getting 2 graphics cards is if you want >2 screens to run nicely, using sli/xfire just isnt worth the cost imo
If you're a student, you can get Windows 7 Professional for $64.95 (you need a .edu email).
Thanks for the info, don't know if I'll get professional or not though, might try a win7 home premium cd my laptop came with and see if that works, if not, might just have to save a $100.
