Nope.
I'm betting it's your processor. What does it say when you try and run Black Ops?

Probably your P4's lack of SSE3, assuming it was made before 2003

Apparently you can modify some files to run with SSE2 instruction sets instead of SSE3
Thanks for that guys, ill bear that in mind when im building my new PC.

Pentium 4 is compatible with black ops, I can run it on my Pentium 4.
I think it's the video card, I have an 8800GT and I can BARELY run the game on the lowest lowest low. Which is still unbearably laggy. Don't try running it on this system, it's a waste of time, I have basically the same specs, sorry.

The 8800GT is fine. I can play on medium with no lag at all (~40fps) with mine (1gb version). Other specs are q6600 ,4gb ddr2 and win7, but yeh. 8800GT plays it no problems at all.

Uh, no. It requires a CPU with two cores, the P4 is single core. That's why it's running so incredibly slow.

Really? I might consider getting it then. After BC2 not being able to run, I thought I didn't have a chance with Black Ops.

BC2 lags because of the physics it has to do.
Pentium 4 is ur problem.
