I got a faulty HD5750 yesterday that was meant to hold me over til I got a new system.
But after rethinking my options, I'm just going to go with an upgrade kit that I will probably purchase today.
I'm on a real tight budget as this is an abrupt purchase, so I've decided to keep the case, optical drive, RAM, HDD and the PSU.
My Upgrade kit plan is:
Intel i5 750
Gigabyte GA-P55-UD3
HIS HD5850
As for RAM I already have DDR3, so that's ok. This will all be running off the 500W Antec Earthwatts PSU that came with the case. Using the Newegg PSu calculator I got 455W, but I just want a second opinion. Will this be ok?
A quick answer would be great.
It should run fine, but you may run into problems.
If you do run into any power related problems, and you end up buying a new PSU, remember to only buy quality brands, and to leave a head room of at least 100Watts.
Two 18A rails = No.
I'm not familiar with rails and that kind of stuff. So 1 yes 1 no. I'll probably double check with the guys at the PC shop today, any more answers?
500w should do you, but you might want 600w. Your hard drives and cooling also come into play, but you should be good unless you have lots of fans or a really fast hard drive/lots of them.

Or for $10 more:

Thanks, but I don't have newegg in Aus :saddowns: Anyways I called up the local pc shop, they don't do warranties on weekends and they ran out of the i5, so not much point for me to go at the moment, gives me more time to consider my options I guess.
