Is the ATI Radeon HD 5970 worth it or is there something better?
If you have disposable income then get it. It's regarded as the best you can get in a price to performance ration.

Actually its regarded as the best you can get full stop. I wouldn't say in a price/performance ratio, your not going to see a £200 improvement in frames over a 5870 say, unless your playing at 2560X1600. Any res below that and its pretty much overkill.

gtx 480
gtx 480
Thats not better performance wise.

Get two of them.
Two of them costs around 1000€
Get two of them.
I smell a troll...
how is it a troll
and two of them cost around the same as a 5970
the 5970 isnt 1000 dollars
Are you thinking of two 470s? Becuase yes, that would cost the same
oh sorry typo, i meant two 470s

And be better than a 5970.
While we are on the topic; when is the next big powerful video card coming out?
If you want to buy a 5970, then you might as well wait for the upcoming dual fermi card
While we are on the topic; when is the next big powerful video card coming out?
470x2, and maybe gtx490.
Wow, I was watching some videos on the 5970. Youtubers make me rage.
"Ok, I need some help with this. I was planning* on get 2 ATI Radeon HD 5970 2GB.
1.) Does that mean if I get 2 cards I will have a better Picture?
2.) And 2 cards with 2GB each will work together as 4GB?
3.) OR SHOULD I JUST STICK WITH 1 ATI Radeon HD 5970 4GB, SINCE 4GB IS OUT NOW?
PLEASE HELP ME WITH THIS ONE, AND ABOUT HAVING 2 CARDS WILL IT GIVE A BETTER PICTURE? Thanx"
Spoiled little kids.

God I wish they asked questions like that on 4chan, then when someone responds get 10 8600's, and everyone agrees they go and do it.

From that information, it seems ATI is planning to release their 6000 series from late 2010 to early 2011.

Already? Since I am new to the PC Building thing in general, doesn't it seem they are going a little too fast? Most games only require a 5770 or 5800 series card to run on 1920x1080.

Yeah, seriously. Those kids on Youtube are annoying as hell. I should stop reading comments. I think that quote was from a comment about some dude playing Crysis Warhead on three monitors and maximum settings (resolution was like 7000x1080) perfectly on one 5970--kid who commented wanted TWO 5970s.
Apparently, it seems ATI wants to get cards out that performs better (on par at least) than Nvidia cards in DX11.

Not on max settings he didn't... triple monitors at 1280x720 maybe.

Here it is. My bad he said "Gamer" settings. That's lower than Enthusiast right?

That I'll believe with no AF or AA.
Its just playable at 1920x1200 with 4x AF, at 3 1080p monitors it would get like 7fps even with no AA.

What is he using then? Four 5970s!?!
I've got an HD 4650, very happy with.

Max is two if I recall correctly.

There are lots of speculation around, some which might be true and some aren't. But I'll take my chances that GTX 495 (SLI 480) would be out september. I don't remember where I read this as I read lots of review and articles. You can try googling it.

It wont be GTX 480 SLI in one chip, it will be based off of GF104, essentially a slower chip with lower TDP than any of the current GF100 chips.
So basically SLI of a slower chip in one card.
Article
Dual GF100 on one chip isn't feasible without under-clocking. Much like the HD5970 or Hemlock, which was 2x HD5870 die, which had to be under-clocked for TDP reasons.

Which is why PCIE spec is fucking retarded.
