Im missing bout 1 or 2 fans in my pc so i keep 1 side open to keep it aired out, cpu is usually around 50 degrees C gpu is usually around 40 degrees C without a window with cold airflow going. Should i do it? NVIDIA GeForce 8800GT AMD Athlon II X4 630 2.8ghz if so, what should i over clock to?
100% load temps first
100% load temps first
you mean load the bios default performance setting..?
as in stress temperatures for CPU use Prime95/Intel Burn Test for GPU use furmark run those until your temperatures reach a point where they don't go any higher
Oh, I see.
I wouldn't really leave one side of your case open, that can cause dust to accumulate inside your case much faster, making cooling less efficient.
I wouldn't really leave one side of your case open, that can cause dust to accumulate inside your case much faster, making cooling less efficient.
ony fans in my case, psu, gpu and cpu
Your point?
Your point?
Not enough fans?
just post your temperatures and we can go from there
cpu-51degrees C gpu-my fucking pc wont show my gpu temp but it doesnt get very hot
cpu-51degrees C gpu-my fucking pc wont show my gpu temp but it doesnt get very hot
I doubt its 50C under load. Go run prime 95 again and see if the cppu usage goes up to 100%. If so, wait 10 minutes and check the temperatures with HW temp. Also Furmark has an option to log GPU temp in the testing window.
If you must ask then NO. Asking means you don't know what you're doing.
Open HWMonitor before starting Prime95, dont wait, shut it down if it goes over 100C With that cooling setup i can imagiane it going to the point of shutting itself down, which is generally bad [editline]22nd March 2011[/editline] And run FurMark has a built in on-screen temp logger
So its a bad thing to have one side of your case open? Even if you have a fan blowing air inside?
So its a bad thing to have one side of your case open? Even if you have a fan blowing air inside?
That's even worse. The airflow should be from coming in from the front and going out the back.

Faraday cages protect your components from static charges, which is what your case is. Thats why you don't see plastic cases. And thats why nobody uses lego to build a case...

Well damn. I had one side of my case open and a small fan blowing air inside to cool my graphics card. Now I need to find a new way to cool my graphics card with my small fan
