I have just finished playing Pokemon Blue just recently after never really having the desire to play the game all the way through in the past.
Before that, however, I beat Pokemon Y on the 3DS and I thought it was very accessible and easy to play. But now, I just want to ask Facepunch
what your guys most beloved Pokemon game is and why. You see, I'm trying to find a new one to play (excluding GO) but I've struggled to actually
pick one and stick with it. So what do you guys recommend?
6th gen (x, y), 2nd gen (gold, silver), first gen (red, blue), third gen (sapphire, ruby), fifth gen (black, white), fourth gen (diamond, pearl) in that order. But 5th and 4th gen are close together and second and first gen are also close together.
I suggest Pokemmo
I really like the 2nd gen games as they were my first.
Soul Silver or Heart Gold would be good. You get the updated 4th gen pokedex list and features as well as a giant post-game, being able to go back to Kanto.
My favourite region is Hoenn though, 3rd gen. Despite the gen 6 update it had recently, and the awesome "Delta Episode", I prefer Emerald version overall because you get the game corner and battle frontier. Also, the one legendary pokemon isn't straight-up given to you.
I really liked Sapphire.
First I played was Emerald so I'm biased towards Gen 3
Plus it has the Treecko evo line which is with no doubt the best grass starter
My top 3 are Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver, then Black 2/White 2, then Omega Ruby/ Alpha Sapphire.
There's no "bad" Pokemon main series game so going into any of them isn't a bad idea. The newer ones are more user friendly and streamlined though so they'll be easier to get all the basic mechanics down.
Gen 3 or the Red/Green remakes. Haven't play any of the more recent ones, but I'd probably like Heart Gold and Soul Silver a lot too.
The Gen 5 games (B/W/B2/W2), I liked the plot in those the most, and they had a good balance of streamlining without making the game wayyy too easy.
Gen 3 is my favorite overall as a whole package, and I love Gen 2 for its amazing music & that powerful sound effect for super effective moves among other reasons that are too many to list.
Gen 4 is my least favorite in terms of the game itself because of its horrifically slow pacing (which apparently they fixed in Platinum but I never bothered to check) but has most of my favorite Pokemon.
I think Johto was the best in my opinion! It introduced that ballin' night cycle, the pokemon from that gen were collectively awesome!
In a close tie, 6th gen was one of the most time consuming games I've played. I could sink hours into it and never get tired. Years later I'm still playing with my teams. I love Lysandre and Professor Sycamore is my favorite prof so far

GOD YES THIS IS WHAT BOSS MUSIC SHOULD BE
Naruto from dragonball is my favorite pokemon.
Personally, Platinum and Emerald are my favorites, but Black and White are pretty awesome too.
I think all of them are great, each in their own unique way, but if I were asked to be more specific, I would say Platinum and Soul Silver. I have some good childhood memories with those.
Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire for sure
Pokemon Vietnamese Crystal.
Heart Gold/Souls Silver was probably the versions I enjoyed the most (well only played Heart Gold but w/e)

how could i forget
Red, Blue, Green and Yellow. If you think otherwise
Fight me
3rd gen hands down. I loved 4th gen, but it wasn't anywhere as good as 3rd gen
4th gen was far better then 3rd gen. Honestly it's still my favourite
Pokémon Emerald/FireRed, Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team, Pokemon HeartGold, Pokémon Pinball, Pokemon Ranger
In that order, with a tight gap between the first two
Loved Emerald, since it was basically the souped-up version of Ruby, which was the first Pokemon game I actually knew what I was doing in.
none of them, they all suck
none of them, they all suck
what a scrub
Pokemon Platinum
Pokemon HG/SS (Despite the shitty level curve)
Pokemon BW2 (Despite the shitty protagonist designs and plot compared to that of BW1)
The DS era of Pokemon was truly the best.
Gen 1 is fun if you like playing with the broken mechanics. HG/SS trump their Gen 2 originals. Gen 3 is ok. Avoid Diamond and Pearl when Platinum exists. BW1 was the pinnacle of plot in Pokemon, but 2's gameplay and selection of Pokemon is better. Gen 6, XY and ORAS were extremely disappointing.
I have high hopes for Sun and Moon. They're looking like what Gen 6 SHOULD'VE been.
Pokemon mystery dungeon tho, especially explorers of time/darkness/sky
Probably the only pokemon game series that has a good and touching main story.

I love all of the pokemon games tho.
except diamon and pearl. Platinum is okay but D/P are just boring. I also haven't finished X/Y while i finished ORAS asap.
