Hey,
So today I got a new netbook that has 4GB of RAM, but when I look under the properties of the machine under my computer it says "4GB (3.75GB Usable)"
Any idea why it won't use all four gigs? I am running Windows 7 x64 so it should be fine..
Maybe that .25 is being used for Vram
Hmm, looking on DXDiag it shows my GPU (HD Radeon 3200) has 1987MB of memory. So wouldn't that mean Windows doesn't need to allocate some to vram?
oh for fucks sake, google before you ask, everyweek same thread
it's usually a setting in the bios, go to your bios and look for something called 'hybrid mode' and disable it.
that or go to 'run', type in 'msconfig' and go to the 'boot' tab. Click on 'advanced' and look whether there's a check at 'maximum memory', if there is, uncheck it.
on the first solution about hybrid thing might not work as you have a netbook, the 256 ram you are missing might be used for the graphics card. There's not much you can do then.
