It says 3027 for me.
Oh it's based on your system clock. That's silly.
Time to skip to 0 days left. I'm tired of waiting :v:
wait mine says 2 days, wtf I thought we had more time!
Lmao I hope you people realise that if you have a dynamic address (over half of the users on this forum at least) you're just as fucked, put away the popcorn.
i showed my friend a countdown for ipv4 and he thought that once they were all out, it would be the end of the internet. :downs:
Most ISPs have switched to IPv6 anyway.
This isn't completely accurate. There's still five /8 blocks - one for each continental authority (technically called an RIR, but there's one for Africa, Asia, North America, South/Central America, and Europe/Middle East). This means there's effectively 80 million or so addresses left - enough to last at least several more months.
There's also the fact that, once one RIR runs out, other things may come into play to slow down usage. Unused blocks may be reallocated - back in the first days of IPv4, when billions of addresses seemed like overkill for the literally hundreds of computers, blocks were allocated quite inefficiently. I doubt DuPont, Boeing, or DEC need 16 million addresses each - some of these could be reclaimed and given to others.
PS: Now that all the blocks have been allocated, I wonder if XKCD will update its map of the IPv4 address space.
Only 1 day, 20 hours, 50 minutes left, oh god.
How do i know if my IP is Dynamic, and will the internet services like Internode, switch to IPv6?
Also, the countdown is late. According to the official IANA site, there are only five unallocated blocks. IANA policy dictates that, once only five blocks are left, they are to be immediately allocated to each of the five RIRs.
Basically, the countdown is one day, twenty hours and fourty-seven minutes late. D-Day, H-Hour has passed.

If you're panicking that the Internet will stop working, DON'T PANIC. Running out of IPs only means that new computers cannot be added to the network. Additionally, if you have a home router, that is the only device that gets an IP address - machines on a LAN use local addresses, which are not affected by this at all.
The only thing to be concerned with is that the growth of the Internet will be slowed quite a bit. That's it. If you can connect today, I can all but guarantee you will continue to be connected.
Then we can bravely call anyone with IPv6 a newfag.
Can someone explain what the fuck I'm looking at?

I only get a circle with a spinning square around it.
Hover your mouse over the shit
1 day 9 hours :raise:
This will be just like watching the countdown to 21 december 2012. (a.k.a. countdown to shitstorm)
Oh god Facepunch I have an idea, there wont be new addresses until May right? So lets buy a fuckload of Ip adresses and sell them once they are all gone! WE WILL MAKE MILLIONS!

So, you can't guarantee, but you can do everything else.
LOL, I clicked this topic and the first time I loaded I got 'Page not found'
Gah. Heart attack.
2 days and 2 hours...

:geno:
oh shit just 2 days left..
Heheh, I got the desktop widget it says there are 3,022,789 addresses remaining. :O
Wow hurricane electric just embarrassed themselves in the eyes of anyone who is technically inclined. If they really think the ip addresses are depleting at the rate of ~40 per second, they're fucking insane.

Odd.

Is it just random?

What?
They were actually too slow. The event they were counting down to (IANA depletion) happened already. They're now about a day late.
