Ok so I have decided that my computer is getting rather old now, with its crummy cpu and outdated 9600gt. I have gone to a website called PC Specialist and I chose the following specs from dropdown boxes:
Processor (CPU) - AMD ATHLON II X2 265 (3.30GHz/2MB CACHE/AM3 Motherboard - ASUS® M4A78LT-M: mATX MAINBOARD, DDR3, USB 2.0, SATA 3.0Gb/s RAM - 4GB SAMSUNG DDR3 DUAL-DDR3 1333MHz (2 X 2GB) Graphics Card -1GB ATI RADEON™ HD 5830 PCI EXPRESS - DirectX® 11 Hard Disk - 500GB SERIAL ATA 3-Gb/s HARD DRIVE WITH 8MB CACHE (7,200rpm) DVD/BLU-RAY Drive -24x DUAL LAYER DVD WRITER ±R/±RW/RAM Memory Card Reader - INTERNAL 52 IN 1 CARD READER (XD, MS, CF, SD, etc) + 1 x USB 2.0 PORT Power Supply & Case Cooling - 450W Quiet 80 PLUS Dual Rail PSU + 120mm Case Fan (£29) Processor Cooling - STANDARD AMD CPU COOLER Sound Card - ONBOARD 6 CHANNEL (5.1) HIGH DEF AUDIO (AS STANDARD Operating System - Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit - inc DVD & Licence (£79)
This totals to £552 which isn't too shabby, I already have a monitor and all that. My maximum budget is about £650. Since I dont know too much when it comes to specs, I was just wondering if these would be any good for gaming? Thanks
Just build it yourself
Build it yourself. Prebuilts are ripoffs.
As I said...I don't really have good knowlege when it comes to specs. That was my main reason for posting, as I barely know what I am doing. I can install it all fine, I just don't know what components would be best.
Change the processor to a phenom II x4 955 and it should be fine.
Change the processor to Athlon II X4 or Phenom II X4. And seriously, build it yourself. It's like LEGO, everything clicks together. You don't have to be experienced to do it, everyone started out the same as you, they weren't born with the wisdom and knowledge to do it.
What games are you wanting to play?
What games are you wanting to play?
Well most newer games and hopefully being at least a bit future-proof too.
Ya it should be fine.
not going to be future proof with that 450w
PSU sucks make sure the HDD is a spinpoint F3 gtx 460 > 5830
Cheers for the advice, so from what I have looked up and heard from you guys I want to change to: phenom II x4 955 600w psu (?) Gtx 460 not too fussed about hard drive, but I will look into that spinpoint f3 reapaninja
spinpoint f3 is the only HDD that exists, okay [editline]11:22PM[/editline] huh, Samsung make RAM?
Samsung has been making RAM for quite a while.
