• Confirmation that my Graphics card is actually broken?

It's a refurbished 9600GT OC, i got it off BFG after sending in my 8800GTS because it was showing artifacts. Anyway the 9600GT would cause my monitor to go black after about 10 minutes of playing games, the game would still run in the background but the monitor couldn't pick up an input. Yesterday, my computer wouldn't start at all, after a few tries it gave me 1 long beep and 3 short ones (Video adaptor failure?). I heard the startup tune play and my anti-virus updating, but no input on my monitor. I took the graphics card out and am now using my old PC. I've messaged BFG to set up an RMA, but while i wait for a reply i would like to know what you think. Its definetly the graphics card right? RMAing it is the right thing to do at this point? Thanks.
you sent in an 8800 and got a 9600 back? you got ripped off
It was an 8800GTS 320MB or something, the one they sent back was a 9600GT 512MB OC. There was an increase in framerates on my games so I'm not complaining.
that makes no sense because they sent you a less powerful card RMA it but you should make sure they send you an equal/better card compared to the 8800
You got ripped off, do as above said.
What are you guys talking about, 9600GT is about the same as an 8800GT which is better than the 8800GTS 320MB version.
What are you guys talking about, 9600GT is about the same as an 8800GT which is better than the 8800GTS 320MB version.
no, a 9800gt is exactly equal to an 8800gt they're the same apart from small differences that don't affect the actual performance
the 8800gts 320mb is gay bullshit
the 8800gts 320mb is gay bullshit
Agreed :hf: RMA and complain
Alright thanks. I e-mailed them last wednesday, still no reply. How long should i wait and what should i do if they don't get back to me?
DEFINETLY got ripped off. I got a crap 8400GS, 512MB and it plays better then 8600/8800 for me. But now ill combine that and a shitty ol' 7600 i found picking up dust, and i hope they both will burn out fast so ill buy 9800GTX.

There is no way a 8400 would outperform a 8600. You also canot combine a 7600 and a 8400.
Guys I connected my 8800gt to another 8800gt. I now have a 17600gt, the fastest card on the face of the earth.

I remembered the time where a guy got a GTX275 for returning a 8600 GTS Lucky bastard

Good game sir. Good. Game.

Update: Still no reply off them, been almost a week now. After doing lots of google searches I'm not the only one. BFG are really going down the shitter. Whole company is going bankrupt or something. Supposedly they're keeping support open... yeah.. seems that way.
