I was wondering if it were possible to make Vista sidebar apps standalone executables so I could start them as I want/need them instead of starting the entire :airquote:"resource hog":airquote:(whatever that means ) Sidebar.
Bumpatize.
Why bother.
unless they're thirdparty exe applications, then no.
It's integrated into sidebar.exe
Sidebar.exe contains functions that are used by the gadgets. You can't run the gadgets separate from the sidebar.
Aww. :saddowns:
Though you'd think there would be a way to load apps into sidebar only as needed rather than loading the entire thing at once. Maybe not though, I haven't used the sidebar in years.
Depending what gadget utility you want it may be better to get something like rainmeter.
Actually if you have more than 1 gadget, 1 exe is using less resources because it holds all the common stuff used by the gadgets.
