• Enough for an Upgrade?

Hi, I got $200 for Christmas and I was wondering if this would be enough to upgrade my computer to primarily run source games and Starcraft 2. Here are my specs.
Operating System MS Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit CPU AMD Sempron LE-1300 Sparta 65nm Technology RAM 2.0GB Single-Channel DDR2 @ 200MHz (6-6-6-18) Graphics ATI Radeon HD 4300/4500 Series (Gigabyte)
Oh, and if you could provide links to any hardware that would be :krad2:, tia.
Sorry but you can't, even though those games aren't very hard to run. There is nothing I can find on Newegg that still uses the AM2 socket (because I would upgrade the CPU).
Time for a new build.
Time for a new build.
This computer isn't even old god damn it.
The computer itself may not be old, but the parts are severely outdated
Probably gonna need a new PSU.
If he has a 300w psu it's enough, and afaik if he bought the computer in the last 5 years he got a 300w psu minimum
I mean, the sempron is a single-core processor [editline]28th December 2010[/editline] no merge
Motherboard if it matters...
PEGATRON CORPORATION NARRA5 (Socket AM2 )
Prolly need a new motherboard as the original won't support 125W CPUs
And I thought computer hardware was getting cheaper... ugh.
Okokokokok, if I wanted to start everything from scratch besides my hard drive. How much would that be for a decent computer to run the games I listed?
You could do well with 350 if you're running lower than 1080p. You could reuse your optical drive, too, most likely. It would save you ~$20. [editline]29th December 2010[/editline] Could get the price down further if you reused RAM until you get some more - there are motherboards that support DDR2 and DDR3, but that's a great motherboard for the price, imo, and would recommend that. [editline]29th December 2010[/editline] NVM, it's hybrid crossfire, I misread.
Good to hear how well things are going for you nothing lasts for ever "forum.php?" in a flash Keep it running! (User was permabanned for this post ("Bot" - Orkel))
