Alright guys, I got a prebuilt computer as a christmas present before I knew much about computers, and I want to upgrade my graphics card. current specs are an ATI Radeon HD 4650 1GB, i5 750, 8GB of ram, and I believe I have a 500 Watt power supply. My budget is about $300-400. I was thinking of a GTX 460 , but is there anything better I can get for my budget?
Depends on what your PSU is. Most likely you'll need to replace it.
Yea, its a prebuilt so It probably has some shitty PSU, I don't have it with me but I can get the information by tomorrow. By the way I'm in Canada. I was looking at some PSU's , would this be fine? http://ncix.com/products/?sku=43569&vpn=P1850BCAG9&manufacture=XFX&promoid=1285
It's a lot more than you'll ever need, even if you SLi. The 650W version would be fine
Alright, my cousin said XFX isn't a very reputable brand, should I just go with this http://ncix.com/products/?sku=55601&vpn=P1650XCAH9&manufacture=XFX or get something else?

This is like $45, should I go for it? http://ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=35456&vpn=OCZ700MXSP&manufacture=OCZ%20Technology&promoid=1285
XFX makes pretty good PSUs
Alright , so should I just go with the PSU and the 460? Or is there any better GPU's?
That is actually a fairly good base for upgrades, I wish you luck.
Shitty Ipod photos inbound, I cannot find a way to open this shitty case.

I've unscrewed all the screws that are on the black part of the back of the case, yet the panels still don't come off. And I can't find anything in the manual or on the website.
Third image, left of the fan is the tab. Pull. if it doesn't come, pull harder. Nothing should be stopping it. And its a metal case, you won't have to worry about cracking or stretching compared to plastic.
If the OCZ ModXstream is ~45$ and the other ~80$, definitely get the ModXstream. It's very nice.
Yea I got it open, I'll be getting my PSU and GTX460 probably this weekend, thanks guys.

Think a GTX460 can fit in this?

Yes, 460's are usually not exceptionally long.
should fit fairly easily, doesn't look like it'd go past the edge of the mobo
Alright cool, I'll get it probably on the weekend, thanks guys.
Alright, I'll be getting a MSi GeForce GTX 460 Cyclone either tomorrow or the day after.
Just make sure you don't get the SE version. It's slower than the normal 768mb version.

Picked up the last GTX460 , the last OCZ ModXStream 700W PSU, and my brother got the last 8GB flash drive on for $10.
Open it already and take pics of it.
I'm at my dads currently, as the GPU and PSU were presents from my dad, I'll be at my moms where I have my computer on Sunday, so I'll bump up the thread with pictures then.

Oh yea, I have some questions regarding grounding, Does the PSU have to be plugged in inorder to ground myself? And do I need to ground myself before touching a new GPU?
Ground yourself before touching the GPU. It won't necessarily break, but it's a good precaution.
I just tap the inside of my case before handling any piece of hardware. Never had a problem with ESD.
Alright, thanks guys. I'll upload photos tomorrow when I go to my moms place!
Fucking hell, today I decided to upgrade the parts, and I had to take the heatsink out so I could get my old PSU out, I put my new PSU in and all and I had to put the heatsink back in and when I was screwing the heatsink back in one of the screws fell out and dropped into the case, I don't know where it went now and It dropped near the edge of the motherboard, so its probably under it.
Alright, got it out. Just installing my new drivers!

Erm, you mean the CPU heatsink? I thought you had to reapply thermal paste when you replace it since it makes bubbles otherwise...

Yea, I meant that the PSU wouldn't come out unless my heatsink came off. Problem fixed now, and got the screw.
