Though I have some questions first. 1. Is there a better alternative than having to use iTunes and QuickTime? 2. If not, can iTunes support flac files? 3. Best messenger program? 4. If there's no real difference, would using WINE for Windows Live Messenger 2009 and msgplus be a good idea?
1. Is there a better alternative than having to use iTunes and QuickTime? iTunes and QuickTime are vastly better on OS X, although there are some pretty good alternatives. doubleTwist is pretty awesome if you have an Android. Ecoute's also pretty nice, but you'll need to use iTunes to manage your library with that. There's also Songbird, imo though it's slow. And of course, there's always VLC. 2. If not, can iTunes support flac files? No, but you can convert them into Apple's own lossless format (Apple Lossless) using XLD, which is what I do. 3. Best messenger program? iChat's nice, but doesn't support MSN (and a lot of other protocols). Adium is widely agreed to be the best multi-protocol IM client.
okay..itunes kicks ass on os x.. like seriously. Don't no avout flac...doubt it. msn rocks. lol
Thanks for the replies but I now have another question. Is there any codec packs that I would need to download to watch fansub stuff with?
Perian is a good one to have and Flip4Mac.
iTunes isn't great on OS X. It's just better than the Windows version
