I'm surprised to say this could actually work [B]if[/B] they get the software right. Specifically, it needs to, bare-minimum, function as a Steambox, preferably work as a full Steam Machine (it does seem to be x86 which will help). And the more other games they can get on there, the better - I can see arcade emulation working well here, but they also need vaguely-current stuff, not necessarily AAA but high-quality indie stuff could work. Even then, the price is a bit much. Maybe throw in a free subscription-type service? Like, pay $10/yr, get a couple indie games a month, first year free with the hardware? Partner with GOG or Humble Bundle or someone like that? Of course, a few quality exclusives could change that, but I'm not exactly expecting any from Atari.
