Hi. I am making this thread because I have just experienced what I believe is an Alcohol flush. The only thing I'm confused about is I have drank multiple times for over two years now without any problems. Today though I had two drinks (one with gin, and the other with tequila), and almost immediately my face started to become warm like a sun burn and turn red (my friend described it as the face of some one who had been pepper sprayed the previous day.) I also have red blotches all over my shoulders, shoulder blades, and partial chest It does not itch, burn, nor do I feel like anything is swelling or difficult breathing. I took a antihistamine just to be on the safe side. So my concern is if this was due to alcohol, why would I be experiencing this now even though I haven't from the many times I have drank in the past? Or perhaps it is an ingredient in the Gin, or Tequila? (I have had both in the past, and the same brands from the same bottles and haven't had this happen though) I know Alcohol Flush is due to genetics and very common in Asians, but I am Caucasian. P.S. I did not eat or drink anything unfamiliar today or the previous day, nor did i use any unfamiliar product on my skin. So what do you guys think?
It also could be you had a specific reaction to whatever kind of gin/tequila you had if they're not the typical brands you drink.

Yes. Some are mixed with various spices for flavor during the fermenting process. You might have had a minor allergic reaction to one. By the time I've bumped this thread (18 hours), your symptoms should have decreased. If not, schedule an appt.
Could be a reaction to the alcohol if you have something like Rosacea. Alcohol is a major trigger.
