My web browser randomly stops showing webpages, despite being connected to the web.

Its weird, one minute I am looking at hilarious lolcats, the next, I get the 404 error. I look at my network indicator, I am still connected to the network and the internet.
Steam still works, and all other web based programs. Naturally, I thought it was just FireFox acting up, but the same thing happens in IE, and Chrome.
Restarting the computer fixes the problem, but only temporarily. And while restarting every once in a while might not be so bad, I have to stop my work several times a day to restart. There does not seem to be any pattern of when it craps out. It just does whenever it feels like pissing me off, I guess. And nothing shows up in my antivirus.
Any insight will be appreciated.
And yes, I tried Google.
I had the same problem. But what I did was I just unplugged my router and plugged it back in and it worked for me.
I have done that several times, not to fix this particular problem, but I have done that. I still have the problem.
update ethernet or wireless drivers?
Check your DNS server's availability or just get some alternative DNS servers. Don't ask me where to set them though, i forgot. Google should help.
If you're on wireless, there might be something interfering with the signal or anther router broadcasting on the same channel. You can try changing the channel your router broadcasts on, the way to do this varies between routers, but you have to get into your routers settings and look under the wireless section for a channel setting. I think it goes from 1-11 or around that. Try changing that to something else. To find out how to access your routers settings, just google "<your router model here (found on a sticker on it usually)> settings" or look for an address on the bottom.
If you're on ethernet (wired), then check if a power cord or high-power device is close to the cable running from the router to your computer. If there is one, move the two apart.
If this just started recently, then your ISP may be having some trouble, you could try calling their support line.
