As the title reads, I am thinking of getting a new GPU however I am stuck between the 670, and 7970. Prices are so variable on all the different models, so I could use a hand! Thanks!
What is your computer specifications? We can't advise a GPU upgrade if you're using outdated or low end hardware.
If you're running a multi-monitor setup go for the 7970. If you're just playing at 1920x1080 or 1920x1200 go for the 670. If you are playing at 2560x1600 then you should probably go for the 7970, the 670 performs pretty equal at that resolution but if you ever plan to upgrade to a multi-monitor setup the 7970 will be a better investment.
Go with the 7970 if: A. You are only going to be playing games and using basic computer programs B. You need the bigger bandwidth the 7970 has which benefits large resolutions C. You are planning to overclock the card http://www.scan.co.uk/products/3gb-xfx-radeon-hd-7970-dd-edition-with-ghost-thermal-5500mhz-gddr5-925mhz-2048-cores-hdmi-mdp Go with the GTX 670 if: A. You need the CUDA cores for programs that make use of them considerably http://www.scan.co.uk/products/2gb-msi-gtx-670-overclocked-28nm-pcie-30-(x16)-6008mhz-gddr5-gpu-965mhz-boost-1045mhz-cores-1344-2xd Also, it would be nice to check your specifications to see if you might have any complications with the graphics cards. Also include your psu make/model. Also, within your budget it might be best to get the GTX 670 if the extra £20-£30 is too much to compensate for.
Should have included that information in the original post. Currently running : ASUS 560 ti i7-2600k CPU @3.40hz (stock) ASUS P8Z68-V 8GB CMZ RAM Silent Pro M 700W d Power Supply
The rest of your setup would work fine, and you have a solid power supply. Both the GTX 670 and the 7970 would serve you well, refer to my above post to help you decide which fits your needs better.

Also, there was a disclaimer about it only applying to XFX cards before but I think it has been extended to all of them.
