For some time now I've been trying to reinstall LibreOffice after it uninstalled to update. However every time I've done so I get blocked by an error message and then it refuses to install.
This is what happens every time it reaches "Writing system registry values":
Error 1402. Could not open key: HKEY_LOCAL MACHINE32\Software\Classes\.doc\OpenWithProgIDs. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel.
That directory doesn't even exist on my system. I've checked the Registry Editor several times and there is no HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE32.
Does anybody know how to fix this? It's important that I have a working office suite for college, and I'm not resorting to installing one in a virtual machine. Any help would be much appreciated.
Still waiting for a solution over here. This is a serious technical problem that I need fixing.
revo uninstaller, just go a head and try it.
Fixed it! Turns out that changing permissions in the registry editor allowed me to finally install an office suite on this beast. And I've switched back to Office 2010 because I could.
