I don't know much about laws regarding impersonating officers but I'm really surprised there's nothing wrong with it. I'd always assumed having 'POLICE' written on the side of your car was a big no-no, regardless of the make or paintjob.

I live down the road from a guy who owns a 90's new york crown Vic interceptor and he drives it fairly often, it's perfectly road legal even with all the markings. However you are not allowed a siren on it of any kind and iirc correctly you can't have blue and or red lights on top. He's been stopped loads of times by coppers who don't know it's legal though.:v:
