To anyone in the beta: How is it so far?
To anyone in the beta: How is it so far?
It is already perfect. Even with microsoft sam voice acting it feels amazing. It's fun to play and feels like a new coop elder scrolls game than a mmo. Graphics aren't bad and game is optimized so well. And the next beta after like 2 month break starts sometime soon. Excited to try it again. edit: eso bandwagon still going?

I got my invite yesterday and will be trying it out. Really torn on a subscription based MMO but it could make a good change to the F2P type MMOs we have been getting recently. Just a shame it is not gonna be a pay once but they got servers to pay for.
To anyone in the beta: How is it so far?
Terrible, standard theme-park MMO with very little to do with the Elder Scrolls series at all. Horrible story, lackluster combat with the same kind of class system every other MMO has that doesn't resemble anything from the Elder Scrolls universe in the least. Has the WoW / EQ issue with quests where you go into Cave A to kill Boss A but the 20 other people in the cave have already killed Boss A or are waiting to kill Boss A so you must wait until he respawns, and also a weird chest loot mechanic (with a lame lockpicking minigame) where anyone can loot them so people fight to get to them after they spawn. The game runs very well performance wise, and the graphics aren't that bad at all considering its an MMO. I never did get to try PVP, will try the beta out this Friday and im hoping alot of this stuff has improved. It really just felt like an improved Everquest 2 with some elder scrolls text sprinkled about.
to put it lightly: another WoW clone
to put it lightly: another WoW clone
When I played it, it didn't feel like wow at all. I'm not defending it, I didn't like it. But it didn't feel like WoW.
Not really a WoW clone... at all. But I still wasn't too fond of it when I last played.

This made me check my E-Mail. Turns out I have a key. :v:
To anyone in the beta: How is it so far?
I was in one a couple months back, and I'm a bit torn. It has some potential, but the Elder Scrolls title is just a slap on for the most part. Definitely not sub worthy yet. I was 50/50 on the combat, but it did play surprisingly smooth for a Zenimax game.
I give it a very generous 6 months before it becomes free to play. After that, it might be worth it to download and play just to see the environments. The Star Wars name couldn't save a generic MMO with a sub fee, how can the Elder Scrolls name?

Wouldn't be surprised at an early price drop though. [editline]10th January 2014[/editline]
To anyone in the beta: How is it so far?
Honestly I found it pretty boring last time. Combat was ridiculously floaty. Sure the combat plays like an elder scrolls game, it just feels nothing like it. I have precise over the timing of my attacks, but combat still boils down to clicking on an enemy until it dies. They tried to make combat that was more active and satisfying than other mmos, but in the end it's neither. I found the combat in Skyrim to be unsatisfying as well, but even in Skyrim you get decent enough feedback if you will. Getting hit knocks you back, you can parry and interrupt attacks, and combined with the animations and sound effects, you can actually "feel" the combat somewhat. ESO is the exact opposite of this. It was probably the one thing I wanted to be good in ESO, considering the combat is the biggest difference between it and most MMOs. I was invited to play this upcoming weekend. I'll probably hop in for an hour and see if things have improved even slightly. But if not, I don't see myself holding out long.
On a scale of APB to TOR How big of a disaster is this mmo going to be?
Might pick this up if it's $40 for the free 1st month, then never subscribe again and wait for the F2P bonuses.
TESticultar Cancer has been tossed around some places.
Im in finally! Hope its okay. Ruenscape is still the only MMO that has ever managed to engage me (until 07)

The only MMO's that I've ever got into are WoW and Runescape. I'll still play WoW on and off now, but trying to get into any other MMO just doesn't happen.
