• Playing steam games, lag spikes every 30 seconds or so, NOT using VISTA

If I play L4D or Counter-Strike Source, I get damned lag spikes every 30 seconds, and I have no idea what's causing it. I had this problem while using vista too, but I used VAL for that. I can't use VAL for this because I'm using xp. Any ideas?
lag? or low fps?
Network lag, fps lag or looping sound almost-crash-but-then-it-fixes-itself-for-some-time? Also, are you connected with an ethernet cable? Try opening hl2 ports on your router: 27020-27039
It is pure lag, I eventually resolved this by getting the D-Link wireless manager, and disabling my WCZ. Thanks to all though.
You have to specify the type of lag next time.
You went from Vista to Xp? Wow.
You went from Vista to Xp? Wow.
I despise it. It should go XP - 7. Without the Vista inbetween. Try plugging in the Ethernet cable into your machine. Sounds stupid, but helped me once
It should go Vista - 7. Without the XP at all.
fixed.
Because Windows 7 is totally better than XP, not just Vista with some speed improvements.
I didn't notice any speed improvements when I put 7 on this computer, tried it for a week, went back to Vista.
I didn't notice any speed improvements when I put 7 on this computer, tried it for a week, went back to Vista.
I notice that it does't perform faster but it seems faster and I prefer the layout.
