I was just installing Dragon Age Ultimate edition and during installation I had to provide my CD-Key for the base game, then to unlock my additional content I had to log into my Social Network account (and origin) and insert another CD-Key on the website.
Does anyone else ever wonder how we are going to play any of our games in 10+ years from now? I have old games on my shelf (fallout 1, baldurs gate, full throttle) which I can install easily because all of the required game data is on the disk, and some require a CD-Key to install but it's only to unlock the content on the disk and doesn't require an internet connection or some kind of account. What if in 15 years I have an entirely new PC and I want to install Dragon Age Ultimate but bioware or some of it's community sites no longer exist, or for whatever reason the way the internet works has changed entirely.
Everytime I install a new game I always think about this. Anyone else?
You're not going to.
Simple.
