I have a WII (so I can buy it from online) so should I play Zelda OOT on 3DS Remake or the 1st n64 90's one
Original on a N64, not a wii. Only way to play it.
They're the same thing aside from some graphical differences. If you have a 3DS go for that because it's portable.
Play on 3DS.
Get it on the N64 or hook up a gamecube controller and buy it on the wii shop.
how have you never played ocarina of time, OP? where was your childhood?
Get a gold cartridge for the N64, has some stuff that was cut from later versions.
The original N64 version, it doesn't feel the same to play it on a small DS screen.
Personally, I would say you should get the 3DS version. It even comes with Master Quest (essentially a "hard mode"), and it's portable, as previously mentioned. Also, the graphics have a nice updated touch, so certain parts of the game definitely look better now than they did on the N64. Either way though, it is a truly ground-breaking game, and holds up well even by today's standards. I hope you enjoy it like I once did.

On-Topic: If the N64 is cheaper, get it for it's the original, and the 3DS version has sortof like, "visions" that are more like cheats and such. Even though the 3DS version has more improvements and such, I would still go with the N64
The original 64 one.
Original on a N64, not a wii. Only way to play it.
That's stupid. The 3DS version is superior to the N64 version in every single possible way. Unless you're short on money there really isn't any reason to buy the N64 version. [editline]13th November 2011[/editline]
I Fucking Love Your Avatar. It's hardly cheating, if you're stumped you're probably going to look up a walkthrough on the internet anyway. Visions is just for convenience.
so get n64 one then.?
If money is not a constraint then the 3DS version is probably the best possible option. It's portable, they upgraded and remade everything. Instead of manually equipping the iron boots you can just tap a button on the touchscreen. Graphics look tons better:
I would ge the n64 one, i got a n64 fro my 6th birthday, and i played ocorina of time every day for about 2 years straight, occasionaly i would pley mario for an hour, or have a race on fzerox. The nintendo64 option would be cheaper and youd get the feal of it. The gamecube version you got with zelda windwaker was similar enough for me to replay, i havnt bought it from the virtual console because i already have 2 copys, but it should be and ok rendition. The 3ds version is going to be to updated so dont go with that. Sorry i wrote so much, zeldas been a big part of my childhood.
errrrrr can't make up my mind the N64 could have give nostalgia but I have like only one 3DS Game :( someone pick a number from 1-10 [editline]13th November 2011[/editline]
I would ge the n64 one, i got a n64 fro my 6th birthday, and i played ocorina of time every day for about 2 years straight, occasionaly i would pley mario for an hour, or have a race on fzerox. There's almost no reason to play the N64 version. Why are you even considering it.
There's almost no reason to play the N64 version. Why are you even considering it.
your reason for me not to get the N64 one.?
Have any of you guys even played the ds version?
your reason for me not to get the N64 one.?
Did you even read my posts? I posted twice above you on why. Fine, I'll list why the 3DS version is vastly superior to the N64 version. Graphics have been improved tenfold (see video I posted above) Controls have been improved (You can tilt the 3DS to aim the hookshot, slingshot etc, it's optional but still, unequip and equip more than 3 items on the go thanks to the touchscreen) Main view less cluttered with maps and interfaces (Your health, map, items etc are on the bottom screen while in the N64 version they're all on the same screen) Interface easier to navigate (All menus are put onto the bottom screen) 3D is stunning when watching cutscenes. It's portable (obviously) Built in help system (Optional, but if you're stumped and don't have access to the internet, you can view short "hint" videos that can tell you where to go next) Includes Master Quest Whoever says get the N64 version is either blinded with nostalgia or a fool. It's like saying "You should get Windows XP over Win7" [editline]13th November 2011[/editline] I would even go so far as to say the N64 version looks ugly compared to the 3DS version. I read your post not your avatar sorry but I guess you made up my mind thank you
Go for the 3DS version, I've only played the N64 version but the 3DS one looks alot better. Plus, aiming the Hookshot on the N64 version is a bitch. At least for me it was.
Go for the N64 version, then go for the 3ds version. That way you get the original (IMO, Much better) then you get to see where modern graphics take it
Gameplay is exactly the same either way so you might as well go for the one with the updated graphics
N64 because they made the Water temple less annoying in the 3DS version
N64 because they made the Water temple less annoying in the 3DS version
The Water Temple is a rite of passage for all gamers.
Go buy the 64 version and a n64 right now or i'll hunt you down and murder you.
