Also, it's Early Access.
That's one way to revive a dead game.
Sad thing is that it used to be good, devs messed with it and now it's shit. Don't bother.

I was looking at this when I was considering buying Battlegrounds, since I remembered it being good, and one of the more recent reviews summed it up, and it pretty much seems like they dumbed it down a lot, and made changes for the worse.
Not sure what happened, apparently they killed it somehow?
Oh hey I remember playing this before!
Refunded after an hour. :vs:
My brother bought this last year and doesn't play it much. I have yet to play it myself. The biggest change I could see was the story apparently switched from "random guy abducted and forced to fight for survival" to "prisoners selected to fight to the death in a "reality" game show".
I really hope someone straight up copies everything from this game and resells it because it used to be cool as shit. A melee based battle-royale is awesome. How they managed to take it from being good to complete shit is really confusing to me.
I ended up refunding this 5-6 games in, it was an interesting concept since I didn't have much experience with BR games but too much about it was frustrating or annoying.
The map was kinda small and bland, the melee combat was awful, laggy and unsatisfying for such a major part and the game just got really samey really fast.
Just get Battlegrounds instead, with the price increase on this it's actually only a couple of dollars more expensive yet already more fun and balanced out of the box.

Apparently they just kept gutting and changing systems which really didn't sit well with the existing playerbase and were considered and overall downgrade.
Also despite all of this controversy within the game's community and a playerbase that peaks out at 100-200 people daily, they decided to raise the price 166% ($15 to $25), so you can imagine how well that went down.
I played in the early days and it showed great promise. It was fresh, and original. I guess that was the high water mark after reading some reviews on the more recent "additions" to the combat systems. Honestly, they weren't perfect to begin with, so any de-evolution would be pretty angering to the fanbase. The price hike is a puzzling decision...probably calculated with the updates made to the game since release.
