Hey all, Generally I'm good with computers but I thought i'd check in with you guys and see if there's a fix to this. Could it be that the ribbon cable disconnected? It happened suddenly in the middle of me using the computer so I don't really know what happened.
I'm sure it was as simple as the ribbon cable, the screen wouldn't work at all, since the backlight power goes over that same cable.
Is this when it powers up immediately?

How old is the laptop? Does it have cooling problems?
Before taking it apart or anything first try plugging it into an external monitor and see if it is able to output anything. If not try unplugging it from the wall, removing the battery, hold down the power button for 30 seconds then put the battery back in, plug it in and fire it up.

But yeah its probably because the ribbon cable is a little loose
