• Connecting to the internet through another computer?

Alright, I'm in a bit of a weird situation: Over the weekend lightning struck my apartment building. I had my desktop unplugged but the ethernet cable was still plugged into the wall. Evidently, it fried my integrated net card. As a temporary solution, I was hoping I could connect to my laptop to the internet using the cable and then have my desktop connect through my laptop using wireless. I don't have a wireless router available (also fucked up by the storm, this apartment evidently has 35 year old wiring). My laptop is running Windows Vista Home Premium (terrible, I know, but I can't get Windows 7/XP drivers for this thing) and the desktop is running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. If anyone could step me through this or a similar solution (one that doesn't require me to buy new hardware, preferably), I can use it for two weeks until college lets out and I can send my motherboard in and get it replaced. Luckily, I bought an extended warranty.
